@Stefano_Machetto In realtà, non sarebbe un cattivo uso del mondo in questo contesto.
Ma tieni presente che deve implicare che il soggetto è il primo di qualcosa/fare qualcosa.
Per esempio, il primo imperatore romano fu... O il primo dei testimoni a deporre fu... O fu il primo avvocato in assoluto.

Come vedi, πρώτους viene tradotta come NOTABILI ma in realtà suonerebbe meglio come gli INFLUENTI, I REGNANTI O I GOVERNANTI

In this context the "πρώτοι" they are talking about and are translated as notables can be thought of as you thought.
🇬🇷Οι ισχυροί της πόλης ή αυτοί που είχαν δύναμη στον λαό και τον έλεγχο, πολλές φορές στα αρχαία ελληνικά κείμενα περιγράφονται ή χαρακτηρίζονται ως "πρώτοι". Το ίδιο ισχύει πιθανότατα και στα λατινικά.
