상복(mourning dress) is only worn during the mourning period which is usually 3 days. Almost no one wears 상복 after that.
Family of the deceased usually have 3 days of official mourning period as said above. Mourners attend a wake usually just once and pay their respects.
Many Koreans(nearly 55%~60% of the Korean population) don't have a religion. I don't have a religion, either. Some noticeable differences between those who don't have a religion and Christians (specifically Protestants) are, Protestants don't bow to a portrait of a departed because of religious reasons. They pray to God and Jesus Christ and sing hymns to pray for the souls of a departed.
I don't know much about Buddhists. Maybe, other than a couple of things such as going to a temple, there wouldn't be many differences from those who don't have a religion.

@Genie_lang oh thank you! i found that it is very interesting that at the funeral, there were people who put flowers and bow, there are also people who burnt the stick and perform korean style of respecting.
so that means performing respect in korean traditional way doesn't mean they are budddism? I thought they are buddism because i saw people perform tradional style respect at the temple.

@j_minerva To be exact, what you saw isn't a "traditional" way. There are some parts that are from a traditional way of funeral, but the traditional Korean funeral culture/process was much more complicated and conservative. The mourning period was also so much longer due to the influence of Confucianism which was deep-rooted during the 500 years of the Joseon Dynasty period(14C ~19C).
The scene you saw is a kind of simple/modern version of funeral that most Korean people have in modern days regardless of their religion.
'Mourners offer a white chrysanthemum and light incense(향). Then, they bow twice to a portrait of the departed.' 👉 Both Buddhists and the people without a religion do this. 'Religious' Christians don't light incense and they don't bow to a portrait. This is the almost only difference between the people without a religion/Buddhists and Christians.
There are funeral service agencies called 상조 회사 in Korea that help out with a funeral process. These companies provide services to aid the whole process from A to Z. These days when everyone is living a very busy life, most Koreans use this service when someone passes away.

@Genie_lang Thank you very much for the informations! You helped me understand things much better!! ^^
Umm.. do you think it is weird or somehow againist the believe if we still wants to wear black after 발인? Because the person who passed away is quite an important person and I do have strong bound with that person. So i'm not in mood to wear colorful clothes but i do want to make sure that i'm not doing it in the wrong way ^^
I also heard something about to mourn for 49 days. Is that a korean believe as well?

@j_minerva It's ok to wear just black clothes. But it will look really weird if a woman goes to work in a 상복. During a funeral, male family of the deceased wear a black suit, and women wear a moderized fusion style black hanbok as the attached photo.
I don't know about how very religious Buddhists take 49재 and what they do on 49재. But, in modern Korea, 49재 usually means a 제사(traditional memorial ceremony/ancestral rite). It's not that a family of the deceased mourn for 49 days. Like I said, we go back to normal life after about 3 days of funeral. It's impossible for modern people to mourn for 49 days when everyone is living a very busy life. Eoneo's explnation about 49재 is correct, but many Koreans these days take it as holding a simple style 제사 on the 49th day of the deceased. That said, it doesn't mean that all Koreans hold 제사. Christians, particularly Protestants don't hold any kind of 제사 for their strong religious beliefs. And, as more and more Koreans are getting tired of all kinds of cumbersome traditional custom, it's becoming easy to see even non-Christians don't hold a 제사.
